After graduating and working for Bocconi University-Italy for eight years,Dr. Gaia Marchisio joined the Michael J. Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University in Atlanta-GA in 2006 as an Assistant Professor of Management.
Dr. Marchisio is also a faculty associate of the Coles College Cox Family Enterprise Center, where she teaches management and family business both at undergraduate students and at the Executive MBA for Families in Business. 
Since 2003 she has been Visiting Professor at EAE - Barcelona, Spain, where she teaches family business in the MBA program.
Dr. Marchisio's research primarily concerns family business, entrepreneurship, and strategic management, with particular interest in fostering entrepreneurship in family business, and family business' strategic planning process.
